Allison Patrick, owner of Knit One Chat Too, opened the doors in May, 2004. The idea was simple, create a warm environment where people could gather and talk while sharing their passion for knitting.
Allison started knitting at 8 years of age and was always encouraged by her mother. Allison's passion for knitting really took hold when she began managing a specialty knitting/design shop in Vancouver. What was only to be a short time turned into five years of knitting and designing fashions.
Allison continued in the field of retail but never lost her passion for knitting and in May of 2004 she realized her dream and opened Knit One Chat Too in Calgary, AB. The store was such a success that Allison expanded the store in September 2005 creating 1800 square feet of warmth displayed through colour and design.
"My motivation for opening the store was to form a sense of community, a place where anyone; ladies, men, and children alike could drop in and share experiences. The expansion allowed me to include a fireplace, comfortable chairs, and a couch to help create the warm environment that makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable".
Knit One Chat Too is about knitting, but it is also a place where friendships are formed and encouragement is always available. Drop by soon. If you are an active knitter, bring your project.
